Whether she is a new mom, mom to be, or a veteran mom watching her daughter or daughter in law run the circus, Mother’s Day is kind of a big deal. It is a day dedicated to her, honoring the sacrifices a mom makes for her children. And THAT should be a celebration! A small token of appreciation is only a small gesture to show your appreciation for all that mom is. So men, children of moms, listen up! I have compiled a list of things I have been given, things I would like, gifts other moms have suggested they’d want, and items my mom said she would love. Scroll down to see! The Mother’s Day Gift Guide
Digital Picture Frame
My grandmother was given this last year and not only is she obsessed (anyone can virtually send pictures to it!) but my mom said she’d love it as well! High quality and excellent reviews, this one is a guaranteed winner.
Candle
I don’t know about your upbringing or how good of a child you were, but I have absolutely said this to my parents before. Nothing like including a silly gift with something sentimental!
Tote Bag
Every woman needs a good tote bag!
Dinner Bell
I love gifts that encourage our family to be together. In our new neighborhood we have the most amazing neighbors and neighbor kids, but that often means the children might be hard to find come dinnertime. I don’t want to be that screaming neighbor for the kids (who am I kidding, it absolutely happens sometimes…) and I have ALWAYS wanted a dinner bell! How sweet would this look on your house and a kind way to collect the children?
MAMA Necklace
Classic, dainty, and sweet. This is one she is sure to love!
Initial Necklace
Marcus gave me this for Mother’s Day I believe when Eloise was born, and I love it so much. I have one for each child (sans Elliott and #5 so I have to add a couple!), you just combine the charms of the necklaces onto one chain. Just so beautiful and meaningful!
Circle Family Necklace
If even more simple is her style, this might be a great option! One larger circle for mom, littler circles for each.
Oventure Key Ring
I have and love this! If she is one to be on the go and maybe even lock her keys in her car (ahem….never happens to me….) this is life changing! Especially when getting kids in and out of the car, grabbing bags and who even knows what else, the keys slip onto your wrist so you have your hands free. You aren’t searching for them in your bag when you are trying to get into the car with a screaming child because they are conveniently on your wrist! This is a must have. Trust.
Mama Script Necklace
This is understated and chic. I feel like especially for those who have waited to don the title of mama, this helps them show their long awaited title with pride and in style.
Birthstone Stacking Rings
Another really sweet way to celebrate your mom status by stacking the birthstones of your children in ring form! And not everyone will know the special meaning behind them, which I think is always sweet. Meaningful but not overbearing.
Family Cookbook
Does she love to cook? This might be a really neat way for her to compile her family recipes in one place! I have collected recipes from all over the place, but having a nice way to combine them would be amazing. And you can then pass it on to your children when they get older.
Stainless Steel Apple Watch Band
My friend has this and I have been wanting it ever since I saw it! it is great quality and looks amazing. It is on the pricy side, but good quality things are worth it! Level up her Apple Watch game!
If a gift isn’t something you want to give, you can give a gift certificate for the spa so she can go get a massage or get her nails done! Or maybe clean her car out for her, or even give her a day “off” being a mom. Get creative! You know her best!
Please, Remember the Ones Who Won’t Be Celebrated
Because I was a single mom for a bit, I am burdened for the mom who won’t be celebrated by her husband on this day. When I was single, I didn’t anticipate it being so heavy. But, the reality is as a widow, the man she lost is the one who made her a mom. He would be the one to dote on her on this day. Or for the divorced, the relationship she has with her man is severed so he might not celebrate her and her role as the mother of their child(ren). So please consider if there is a single mom in your circle who won’t be acknowledged on this day and give her something to make her smile!
One of my favorite memories is on Mother’s Day and one of my best girlfriends surprised me while I was in my driveway. She drove up, music blaring, gave me a giant hug and gift, and made me feel so special and seen. Be that person. Let her feel loved on this day!
